Shopping Time!: Solemate

Happy Valentines Day!!! :D

Sorry for the long absence. I got sick (yet again huhu) and then I went home to Baguio City to celebrate my mother's birthday. Anyway, my post has nothing to do with Valentines Day with all the notion of soulmate and everlasting love :p This is regarding the brand of flats I recently discovered at SM Department Store. When I went home to Baguio, I unfortunately brought flats that gave me really painful blisters. I was forced to find new shoes that will help me ease the pain. I stumbled upon these pairs when I saw a sign that says "Buy 2 pairs for P399.75"! One pair costs P299.75 so I really got a big discount by buying 2 pairs :) There are a lot of colors to choose from; some were even printed. In the end, I chose 2 plain but colorful pairs.

Fuschia Pink

Red
The best part is the materials used. The cloth is similar to a sweatshirt or jogging pants so it's super comfy and flexible. Too bad part I can't used this if it's raining :( I guess there are some sacrifices to make to compensate for comfort :D).

Nothing much to talk about today's happenings since I was in the office the whole time. However, our company gave red heart-shaped balloons & chocolates to each employee so we were not totally left out from the "festivities" :P

Hope you enjoyed your day :)

XOXO

Extended Year-End Sale Treasures

... and so it was, the year-end sale was extended... to both my delight and chagrin :D It gave me more time to shop for items that I may not be able to buy on regular price but slowly, my New Year's promise to save just got broken... to a certain extent. Some of the items were bought using gift certificates I received, so technically, it's still a win-win situation for me :) Even if it's sale, I still don't buy anything above 1000 pesos per item...I don't know why but anything above it is already expensive to me :P I rarely buy clothing or other stuff above that price (and with a lot of options to choose from, you can buy cheap but quality items... you just have to look for them really hard).

Here are the items I bought over the course of the extended sale period:

- Love the sea-themed necklace! Wish I had thought of doing this :P
 chickflickcollection.multiply.com necklace bought at Cinderella
- My adventure wouldn't be complete without buying clothes... which are really, really cheaper during sales :D

I got this top for 70% off! what I steal... and perfect for the upcoming summer season (that's March in our country)

navy sheer top: Unica Hija @ P250. Love the front details :)
I usually don't go to Forever 21 during sales because it can be chaotic at times but good thing I did because I stumbled on a very good find! I bought a dress at 50% off for P525... but it's like I'm getting 3 items for that price :D
the sheer dress, the slip, and the belt!

the actual dress... maybe I can substitute the pink slip with another color... and use the belt in other outfits :D
 - A lot of bags were also on sale and I'm very happy with what I found!

I love the laptop bag I bought from a store in Glorietta (see it here) that I came back the following week to buy another one (this time, it's a tote bag)... and it's only P500, not bad for something that's big enough to carry a lot of items and the print's so cute too!
tote bag: Prizms @ Glorietta
I love satchels so when I found this, I didn't pass the opportunity to buy this. It costs P650; the materials are great!
Therapy brown & snakeskin satchel for P650 :)

- Lastly, I didn't buy this on sale but I was still surprised to find out that the book is less than P1000. I really thought that this is a really expensive book when Jane Aldridge first endorsed it on her blog, Sea of Shoes. I didn't bother to check it out at a bookstore thinking that I wouldn't be able to afford it so when I happen to go to a bookstore and see this (and found out it's price), I immediately bought it! I don't think I'll be able to blog as well as the featured bloggers on the book, but just seeing how they dress really serves as an inspiration (despite the fact that those bloggers are probably 5-10 years younger than I am :P)
Style Yourself book :)

So there it is... the treasures I found during the extended year-end sale :) I hope I can finally have time to relax and not buy a single thing for the next few months (or at least until the next grand sale).

Have a great day!

XOXO

Christmas Shopping Part 2

I only got time today to actually take photos of the other batch of my Christmas Sale buys. This batch is what I call "The drapey, flowy dresses edition". I believe that if something fits you well and it's also something that you love, buy multiples of it :D I love drapey & flowy dresses since it doesn't cling to the body and it hides a multitude of body flaws. So I bought a lot of them while it's on sale... and most importantly, while I have money :P

The first batch are all solid colored:

cobalt blue jersey dress: Landmark

maroon blue jersey dress: Landmark

black blue jersey dress (sleeveless version): Landmark

up close draping of the black dress
draped jersey dress: Blanc et Noir @ SM Department Store

up close detail of the dress
aquamarine jersey dress: Philosophy @ SM Dept Store

I love the idea that these dresses are like a blank canvas. It can be matched with bold and/or printed accessories :)

Now on to the printed dresses:

hat print garterized dress: Tomato

The hats are so pretty :D

Pink & Gray animal printed draped dress: Philosophy @ SM Dept Store

The print and the drapes

purple bohemian printed chiffon dress: Tomato

love the print and the color combo or purple, white, & turquoise
I just can't live without anything printed so I think it's just right for me to buy these dresses (ok, I'm just justifying my items :P).

I usually buy at Landmark and SM Department Store since they have a lot of inexpensive yet very chic items. I especially like Philosophy & Blanc et Noir so when I go to SM, these are the brands that I first check out.

This year, I've added Tomato to the go-to list. I really thought that their dresses are only for the very petite/slim but I was surprised that their dresses fit me as well (I'm a bit chubby and I have a stomach pouch to hide hahaha). They also have a very pretty collection of flats as well.

Since 2012 is now here, I wish you all more great finds to come :)

XOXO

P.S. Apologies for the poor quality of the photos. I was still a bit sleepy when I took this pics so it was taken in a rush :D

Christmas Shopping Part 1

I have to confess... I spent a lot this Christmas season (and still continuing to spend)... maybe it's the "Sale" sickness kicking in :D This is just a quick post of what I bought during the last 2 weeks (I'll post the others next time; I forgot to take pictures of them):

I bought several necklaces. Even if I create and sell accessories as well, there are times that I just fall in love with other accessories that I just have to buy them :D

bought at Cinderella; chickflickcollection.multiply.com necklace

necklaces: Landmark

close up details --- globe balloon (with bear inside the basket), red lobster, and peacock

I also bought 2 sheer tops with feminine details. Both are in muted colors... which is unusual for me since I'm a fan of very colorful tops :)

Blouse: Calypso @ SM Department Store

different shades of gray with embroidery and beads

sheer lace details up close
Finally, I chanced upon a flats with sheer details (what's up with the sheer thingys :p). I really love this... my new favorite flats :D
Shoes: Parisian @ SM Department Store

up close details --- red color, ribbon and sheer floral details
So this is Part 1 of what I bought this Christmas season :D I'll try to post the other stuff I bought when I can. I'm currently busy packing since I'll be going home to my province (well, home city is more like it), Baguio City, for a well-deserved R&R and of course, to spend time with my family and old friends :)

In case I forgot to post during the holidays, I wish you all a Merry Christmas! Have a fun and safe holiday :)

XOXO

Weekend Blues

I'm usually happy once weekends kicks in but today it's a bit different... let me count the ways why this is not turning out to be my day:

1. My SD card got corrupted! I can't access the pics that I was supposed to upload on Chictopia and the pics for my online store ggggrrrr! I mean seriously??? After my laptop, here comes another technical problem?!?1? I smell sabotage :P I hope I can still recover the pics though huhuhu

2. The newest Forever 21 store here is now open (which is just one short ride away from my house) but I don't have money (I know, so sad!) :( So I'm now stuck in my house so that I won't end up disappointed...

3. My cough is killin' me! I had this for over a week already... I feel like my lung's going to explode :p

So there you go... not exactly the best of days :( But enough of the ranting :D Since I'm on house arrest, the next best thing to do is to create more accessories or watch more Korean Dramas :P It's not shopping, but I guess that's good enough for now... until I'm attacked by the "Shopping Withdrawal Syndrome" :D

So, for my Items of the Day... these pics are the some of the accessories I made a month ago that I was unable to post. Fortunately I saved it on my computer before the SD card disaster. I'll also be posting these pics on my still on-going online store...

So until the next post... hopefully by that time, I already recovered the pics :D

Getaway!

Gosh I never knew that work can be such a hindrance to my blog... or maybe I don't know how to multitask... or both! It's been over a month since my last blog ---but I guess it's better late than never.

I just came back from a family vacation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Now I'm back at work---physically---but my brain is somewhere else... still on vacation :P

This getaway is what I needed to rejuvenate my senses... especially my sense of taste and sight. I ate a lot of food that I think I gained an additional 10 pounds... that's not including my gain weight from all the holiday feasts!... and because of that, I bought new clothes at Ben Thanh Market.... by far the cheapest place to buy in HCMC. It's where you can buy clothes for a lot, lot less... my luggage almost didn't close because of all the items I need to take home :D I forgot to take pics of the items I bought but I guess that's an excuse to have another entry on my blog (I hope)....

For now, my items for the day are the accessories I made 2 weeks ago... excuse me for the crappy quality and background of the pics. I was already tired & sleepy after making accessories that I wasn't thinking how it would look like in pics :D

So until my next blog :)
