Shoe-In!

I have this moments wherein if I start buying one item, I'll buy similar items continuously for the rest of that month. Case in point - Around late April, I bought two pairs of sandals - one from SM (here) and the other from Tomato (here). This month, I have 2 new pairs of shoes, this time for the office. If I don't have self control, I would have bought more (which will also empty my wallet :P).

Block heel shoes: bought online
The shoes above is an online find --- specifically from a Facebook online buyer. It was pre-ordered from Korea. I have block heels in brown but I've been looking for a black one for the longest time. I know that block heels are no longer in style, but I really don't care 'coz  it's a type of heels that can support my (rather) fat legs :D I have a higher change of not tripping or experiencing sprains again :) It's comfy too. The bow is just a nice feminine touch and the material is not the usual leather - its actually corduroy.

Wedges: Juan by Janylin
The wedge heels is my latest purchase. It was bought at Glorietta 5. Initially, I didn't have any intentions of going to Glorietta 5 'coz it's out of the way. However, I needed to buy something at a shop located there and I happen to see a Sale sign at Janylin :D I guess it's fate that lead me to buy this :P I was hesitant in the beginning to buy the shoes but thinking that I rarely go to Glorietta 5 and that it was on sale, I walked out of the store carrying a plastic bag with a box of new shoes :) Wedge heels are also comfy, and again, can support my legs without wobbling.

The two items are both in black and their styles are simple. I usually don't like 'simple' styles when it comes to shoes, but given that I usually buy more printed outfits, I needed simpler shoes to go with it. In the end, I'm very happy with my purchases... but now, if I can just bury my wallet and credit card somewhere.....

XOXO

Crossroads

I'm trying... I'm trying to update my blog as much as I can. Yet I'm stuck at my day job, working like a slave :p Now, I'm unable to post blogs even if I want to. I'm fed up with my job that I just want to leave everything and leave... but I need money for my shopping needs :D

Enough about the drama... Let's get back to (blog) business. I joined this site - Chictopia.com. It's an online community where you can upload a (chic) picture of you and blog about what you feel regarding the outfit. The other members may comment and vote for your pics :) It's fun because you get to see other people's style and also find your next fashion inspiration. Since the members are from all over the world, you can check out the trends of people from other countries :D I still don't have a lot of points yet (especially compared to others whose styles are freakin' amazing!) but it challenges me to be more creative in my style and show the quirky and classic in me :D Now this is a fashion crossroad for me!

My camera's still busted so my items for today are archive photos of some of my shoes that I absolutely love (again) :p

I love flats... they're very comfy... but I'm not the type that buys simple flats...the quirky side of me comes out - I want embellished and/or printed flats (like the first 2 pics). As for heels, I'm not exactly a stilletto person as I don't think it can carry my weight. I want chunky heels or wedges if I feel like adding some height :)

Style Inspirations

Yesterday, I browsed through the pics of the latest Harry Potter movie premiere... Emma Watson looked stunning in a black lace and feather dress! She's such a fashionista :D How I wish that I was that stylish when I was her age :) I also browsed through the pics of Kate Middleton (she's currently in the news because of her engagement to Prince William --- lucky girl :P ). Even if she's not yet married to his prince, her style is already commanding presence and respect. Prince William did choose wisely :)

Speaking of fashionable ladies, I thought to myself who I admire fashion-wise. I came up with a list of my style inspirations and why I admire them:

1. Emma Watson - she didn't went through much of an awkward stage... so blessed!
2. Carey Mulligan - love her *quirky* fashion choices
3. Zooey Deschanel - same reason as Carey Mulligan :)
4. Ginnifer Goodwin - not too quirky like the 2 & 3 but fashionable none the less
5. Michelle Obama - she leans towards the classic side but not at all stiff for a first lady... I admire her love of color and accessories too
6. Rachel Bilson - she's a fashion risk taker but still knows what looks good on her
7. Taylor Tomasi-Hill - has amazing accessories....

I'm pretty sure there are still a lot of fashionable ladies around but these 7 are on top of my mind...

Starting today, I will introduce a featured item or items... items that I'm happy to show you guys, accessories that I made, items that I have plans of selling (in the future... I plan to open an online store *cross fingers*), or any random things that I fancy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being boastful here... as a thrift shopper, I find items that are *inexpensive* but beautiful (to me anyway :P)...

Enjoy!

Featured item/s of the day:

One of my "classic" shoes... I love the thick heels as it can carry my (heavy) weight :D

(bit of a) "quirky" shoes... love the floral print... dainty and girly... but not quite classic
