Daily Outfit: Be My (Pink) Valentine

This was my work outfit yesterday, Valentine's Day :) I really don't want to wear red but in keeping with the Valentine spirit, I wore a pink dress (with red floral prints) and shoes instead. It was relatively hot yesterday so this dress is really a perfect outfit to wear since it's cotton. I finally wore the fuschia pink flats I bought at SM (see my previous post). I just love how the pink shoes matches with the dress.

dress: bazaar-bought, belt: Landmark, earrings: gift from friend, flats: Solemate@SM Dept Store
On another note, I'm really excited on our upcoming trip to Legazpi City! This is my first time going to Bicol Region :D I will finally get to see the actual Mayon Volcano instead of just seeing pictures of it on countless textbooks :P I just hope the weather will be on our side...

I'm really sleepy now. I spent an extra 1 1/2 hours in the office today so I'm tired.

Goodnight! :D

Daily Outfit: Girl Scout

Hi again! :D This is my Thursday work outfit. The colors of the dress reminded me of the Girl Scout uniform hehe. The shades of green & brown are the exact shades of the uniform. Anyway, I love this dress because it's comfy, simple yet vibrant, and it looks like a top & skirt combination :) Nothing much happened to me that day except that it's a usual busy day at the office :(

dress & bag: thrifted, heels: Parisian @ SM, necklace: Landmark

up close pic of the bag & heels
To not look like I'm going to camp, I finished my outfit with two printed accessories (heels & bag) with shades of brown, green & orange. I love that both of the accessories have the same color set even if I bought them at different places & time :D

Ok, go to go... I need to go somewhere today... until next time! :D

Daily Outfit: Bye Bye January!

Time flies soooo fast! Today's the last day of January.... it's going to be February tomorrow! I'm excited for February because I have a lot of activities to do/places to go. I'll be going home to Baguio on the second week of February for my mother's birthday. A week after that, some friends & I will be going to Laguna, then a week after is my Legazpi trip!... wow! So many things to do, so little time! :) I even haven't booked an accommodation & tour for Legazpi yet. If you have suggestions, please tell me :D

Here's my Monday work outfit. The colors are a toned down compared to my previous outfit... something subdued for a change :) It's almost monochromatic except for the light pink shade on the dress. My friend noticed that I don't wear much of the accessories that I make. I told her that if I wear those that I make, I may never have the heart to sell it :P  I would want to have those items all to myself :D I guess today's an exception since I got to wear one of the pieces that I'm selling...

cardigan: Landmark, dress: Philosophy@SM, heels: Parisian@SM, bag: gift from sister, necklace: Quirky Classic

Upclose pic of the dress

One of my favorite necklaces from all of the items I made :)

Anyway, hope your January turned out great. If not, there are still 11 months to fulfill things that needed to be achieved :D By the way, my Multiply site is not turning the way I hoped so I temporarily created a Facebook account for my accessories. Please check out facebook.com/quirkyclassic. Add me as friend too :D I'll also be posting some thrifted items soon (once I have the time to get the items from the laundry shop :P)

Daily Outfit: Bluer Than Blue

This is a late post since this was my Wednesday work outfit. Anyway, just another quick post. I know, the title is an obvious giveaway :P I absolutely love this shade of blue, somewhat of a cobalt color. The dress is great not only because of the color but also of the details in the middle…. it hides my (really big) stomach problem :P I bought this style of dress in 3 different colors: blue, burgundy & black (which I already wore here).

dress: Landmark, leopard print heels: bazaar-bought

To finish the outfit, I paired it with my leopard print heels (which I already overuse). I use blue & brown combination quite a lot… but for me, it just works :)

In other news, I updated my last post since I successfully booked a P1 fare flights promo (Cebu Pacific) to Bohol (August) and Cebu (October) last Saturday early morning! I never had much luck booking for a piso fare promo before so I really didn't expect that my "experimental" booking to Bohol will actually go through :D So when it did, I excitedly booked for another one, this time for Cebu... and again, I had a successful booking! Luck is definitely on my side this time :P

Anyway, time to sleep... it will be Monday again later. Time sure does fly so fast!

Extended Year-End Sale Treasures

... and so it was, the year-end sale was extended... to both my delight and chagrin :D It gave me more time to shop for items that I may not be able to buy on regular price but slowly, my New Year's promise to save just got broken... to a certain extent. Some of the items were bought using gift certificates I received, so technically, it's still a win-win situation for me :) Even if it's sale, I still don't buy anything above 1000 pesos per item...I don't know why but anything above it is already expensive to me :P I rarely buy clothing or other stuff above that price (and with a lot of options to choose from, you can buy cheap but quality items... you just have to look for them really hard).

Here are the items I bought over the course of the extended sale period:

- Love the sea-themed necklace! Wish I had thought of doing this :P
 chickflickcollection.multiply.com necklace bought at Cinderella
- My adventure wouldn't be complete without buying clothes... which are really, really cheaper during sales :D

I got this top for 70% off! what I steal... and perfect for the upcoming summer season (that's March in our country)

navy sheer top: Unica Hija @ P250. Love the front details :)
I usually don't go to Forever 21 during sales because it can be chaotic at times but good thing I did because I stumbled on a very good find! I bought a dress at 50% off for P525... but it's like I'm getting 3 items for that price :D
the sheer dress, the slip, and the belt!

the actual dress... maybe I can substitute the pink slip with another color... and use the belt in other outfits :D
 - A lot of bags were also on sale and I'm very happy with what I found!

I love the laptop bag I bought from a store in Glorietta (see it here) that I came back the following week to buy another one (this time, it's a tote bag)... and it's only P500, not bad for something that's big enough to carry a lot of items and the print's so cute too!
tote bag: Prizms @ Glorietta
I love satchels so when I found this, I didn't pass the opportunity to buy this. It costs P650; the materials are great!
Therapy brown & snakeskin satchel for P650 :)

- Lastly, I didn't buy this on sale but I was still surprised to find out that the book is less than P1000. I really thought that this is a really expensive book when Jane Aldridge first endorsed it on her blog, Sea of Shoes. I didn't bother to check it out at a bookstore thinking that I wouldn't be able to afford it so when I happen to go to a bookstore and see this (and found out it's price), I immediately bought it! I don't think I'll be able to blog as well as the featured bloggers on the book, but just seeing how they dress really serves as an inspiration (despite the fact that those bloggers are probably 5-10 years younger than I am :P)
Style Yourself book :)

So there it is... the treasures I found during the extended year-end sale :) I hope I can finally have time to relax and not buy a single thing for the next few months (or at least until the next grand sale).

Have a great day!

Daily Outfit: Black & White Redux

Just a quick post of what I wore today. I'm already a bit sleepy :D Here's my work outfit today. I wore a dress that I recently bought online (www.vivavintage.multiply.com). Thank god it fits :D Usually when I buy online, it's either a bit smaller or a bit larger than described. This one's just right :) I also love the polka dot print and the silk fabric.

dress: bought online, bag: gift from sister, belt: Landmark, watch: bought online, bangle: bazaar bought, ring: Forever 21
To match the black & white color of the dress, I used my black & white houndstooth bag given to me by my sister last Christmas. I finished my outfit with a red belt to give the look some color and some black accessories (watch, lace plastic bangle, and studded bug ring). Lastly, I wanted to be comfortable so I wore my trusty flats :)

love the houndstooth print of the bag
So that's it for now. I have to sleep... My eyes are really droopy :P

Daily Outfit: Beetle Mania

Happy Wednesday people! :D Here's my work outfit today. I chose a simple, solid-colored dress & cardigan to highlight the bag. The dress is flattering in a way that it has a knot located at the narrowest point of my waist... that created folds to hide my belly :D The bag, meanwhile, is actually a laptop bag that I used as a tote bag. I really love the print on the bag--- it's a vintage Volkswagen Beetle with two hippies…. I say, very classic vintage! I just adore quirky prints on anything :) My eyes just gravitate towards them.

blue cardigan, dress: Landmark, bag: Glorietta (forgot the name of the shop)

This is the first time I’ve taken a picture inside the office. A lot of my officemates were on break so I asked one of my friends to take a picture of me hahaha. So in a way, this was a quickie shot :D  By the way, that’s not my workstation you see in the photo. My workstation is a bit messy so I looked for a vacant one.

My work day was pretty uneventful. Well, in a way it was a good thing because that means there's nothing much to stress about :p I just hope that in the coming days I'll still be able to say this because there is a huge backlog on our onshore counterparts so that means we will also have a lot of things to do. However, I also feel blessed that we'll have a lot of things to do... this only means that we can keep our jobs :D

Christmas Shopping Part 2

I only got time today to actually take photos of the other batch of my Christmas Sale buys. This batch is what I call "The drapey, flowy dresses edition". I believe that if something fits you well and it's also something that you love, buy multiples of it :D I love drapey & flowy dresses since it doesn't cling to the body and it hides a multitude of body flaws. So I bought a lot of them while it's on sale... and most importantly, while I have money :P

The first batch are all solid colored:

cobalt blue jersey dress: Landmark

maroon blue jersey dress: Landmark

black blue jersey dress (sleeveless version): Landmark

up close draping of the black dress
draped jersey dress: Blanc et Noir @ SM Department Store

up close detail of the dress
aquamarine jersey dress: Philosophy @ SM Dept Store

I love the idea that these dresses are like a blank canvas. It can be matched with bold and/or printed accessories :)

Now on to the printed dresses:

hat print garterized dress: Tomato

The hats are so pretty :D

Pink & Gray animal printed draped dress: Philosophy @ SM Dept Store

The print and the drapes

purple bohemian printed chiffon dress: Tomato

love the print and the color combo or purple, white, & turquoise
I just can't live without anything printed so I think it's just right for me to buy these dresses (ok, I'm just justifying my items :P).

I usually buy at Landmark and SM Department Store since they have a lot of inexpensive yet very chic items. I especially like Philosophy & Blanc et Noir so when I go to SM, these are the brands that I first check out.

This year, I've added Tomato to the go-to list. I really thought that their dresses are only for the very petite/slim but I was surprised that their dresses fit me as well (I'm a bit chubby and I have a stomach pouch to hide hahaha). They also have a very pretty collection of flats as well.

Since 2012 is now here, I wish you all more great finds to come :)

XOXO

P.S. Apologies for the poor quality of the photos. I was still a bit sleepy when I took this pics so it was taken in a rush :D

Style Inspiration: New Girl

I always love Zooey Deschanel. I already mentioned her before as one of my style inspirations. Now, she has a new show - New Girl. Just like her real-life style, her character's (Jess) style has a quirky & fun vibe to it :) She's also girly--- and that reflects in her constant wearing of skirts, cardigans, and vintage wear. I recently found an article about Jess' style (you may read it here) and I just love every single thing she's wearing! Comfy but never compromising her style. Youthful but still sexy. Fun but not too over-the-top.

Here's more pics of Jess and her lovely style choices:

LOL she looks funny here... but great dress :D

I love the blazer+dress combination... but I usually prefer cardigans

So cute! :D

Daily Outfit: Boogie Bash

Here's a quick post of my outfit and other extras of our Christmas Party held last December 10 at PICC Reception Hall.

As I've mentioned in my previous post, I'm not exactly the type of person who wears costume in a Costume Party. I'm just wearing the "essence" of it... in this this case, the theme is 70s inspired. The print of the dress and the beaded sandals are definitely 70s inspired :D

Sadly, I haven't won a single thing in the raffle (yet again! boo!). They gave away IPad, DSLRs, BB Playbook, Rudy Project watches, Plasma TVs, overnight stay at Mandarin Oriental, and other minor prizes. Well, better luck (again & again) next time.

Overall, it was a very fun night... good food, good company, good entertainment :)

Daily Outfit: Chee-dots

I should have posted this yesterday but I was so tired from work. Anyway, here was my work outfit last Monday. I did a print-on-print on my dress and heels because I love both of the prints so much; I decided to just wear them together :) Monday was such a busy day... usually, it's less hectic than the 4 other work days but it really was different this time. Good thing, I felt great about my outfit :) I already wore this dress before - albeit, with a different belt and shoes (and no cardigan), see it here.

Dress: thrifted, cardigan & belt: Landmark, heels: bazaar bought
On another note--- our company Christmas party will be this Saturday, December 10. The theme is Boogie Nights - 60s & 70s style :D I already have an outfit... well, I just hope that will work with the theme :) I'll make sure to take photos on that night... so just stay tuned hahaha.

Daily Outfit: LRD

A LRD (little red dress) is not something that's on top of my fashion list (LBDs still reign supreme in my closet). In fact, red is not my favorite color at all. However, there's just something about this Forever 21 dress that struck a cord. The red-ness of this dress is just right--- not too bright, not too dark. What really made me fall in love with this dress is the sleeves... it reminds me of origami... or paper cutouts... or lattice... or... the list goes on :) The arms are not exactly my best body feature so this is exactly the reason why I don't go sleeveless... with this dress, I don't need to.

dress: Forever 21, bag: given by sister, heels: bazaar bought, earrings: SM

close up pic of the sleeves and earrings

To complete the classic look that I was going for, I paired it with my new heels that I bought at a bazaar for only 450 pesos :D I just fell in love with this pair the moment I saw it. I then used the bag that was given to me by my sister. To make the outfit more "me", I chose "bohemian" earrings in dark orange (to complement the red and brown tones).

XOXO

P.S. It finally rained today!... definitely a much cooler day than yesterday :D
