Daily Outfit: Seeing Stripes

This was my outfit last Friday (I know, late post :p) Apologies for the photo quality... forgot to bring my camera so this is all I got  :D Anyway, my friends & I hanged out at a Chinese restaurant after work. We had a lot of things to catch up to and there were ghost stories & laugh trips as well!

The thrifted top is an old one… I had it for 2 years already. I love that there is a gradual differentiation of color and thickness of stripes. The darkest color and thinnest stripes are in the lower portion, concealing my tummy  (definitely a plus for me! hahaha).

necklace: Landmark, top: thrifted, watch & bag: gift, jeans: Jag, flats: Parisian @ SM

I love the latest necklace I bought that I wore it again (I first wore it last Monday; check out my Monday outfit). I guess there’s nothing bad wearing the same accessory or outfit over and over again if you really adore it.

In other news.... I finally went through with my thrifting adventure! Although, most of the items I bought were for the online shop I'm planning to open this month (or next month, depending on my schedule). It was really not planned to be that way but I found a lot of good items that just didn't fit me but can be potentially liked by someone else. I'm really, really, really hoping that I'll have the guts & time to open an online shop to sell my handmade accessories & thrifted outfits. Cross fingers! This time I won't procrastinate...I already wasted a lot of time just wishing but not doing :P

Wish me luck! ... and blessing :)

Christmas Shopping Part 1

I have to confess... I spent a lot this Christmas season (and still continuing to spend)... maybe it's the "Sale" sickness kicking in :D This is just a quick post of what I bought during the last 2 weeks (I'll post the others next time; I forgot to take pictures of them):

I bought several necklaces. Even if I create and sell accessories as well, there are times that I just fall in love with other accessories that I just have to buy them :D

bought at Cinderella; chickflickcollection.multiply.com necklace

necklaces: Landmark

close up details --- globe balloon (with bear inside the basket), red lobster, and peacock

I also bought 2 sheer tops with feminine details. Both are in muted colors... which is unusual for me since I'm a fan of very colorful tops :)

Blouse: Calypso @ SM Department Store

different shades of gray with embroidery and beads

Finally, I chanced upon a flats with sheer details (what's up with the sheer thingys :p). I really love this... my new favorite flats :D
Shoes: Parisian @ SM Department Store

up close details --- red color, ribbon and sheer floral details
So this is Part 1 of what I bought this Christmas season :D I'll try to post the other stuff I bought when I can. I'm currently busy packing since I'll be going home to my province (well, home city is more like it), Baguio City, for a well-deserved R&R and of course, to spend time with my family and old friends :)

In case I forgot to post during the holidays, I wish you all a Merry Christmas! Have a fun and safe holiday :)

XOXO

Mega Sale!

As much as I want to blog about Prince William & Kate's wedding, I was at work at that time and didn't get to see much of it. What I want to say though is that Kate (or should I say, HRH Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) looks amazing in that wedding dress! It's true to her style - classic and regal.

Anyway, what I want to share to you is my experience with the ongoing 3-day sale at SM Megamall (April 29-May 1). I went there yesterday and I have to say, it's both exciting and exhausting! Exciting because there are a lot to choose from... and exhausting because I feel like half of the population of Manila is there! :P I swear, at one point I thought that I was going to faint...

I have taken pics of my purchases. Again, I do apologize for my lack of photography and editing skills... do appreciate the items though :D

Here's the pic of what I wore that day:

Top, shorts, & beaded sandals: SM (haha I only realized it now that all of it are from SM :p), sequined bag: thrifted.

I bought a dress and 2 tops from SM Department Store. I could have bought more if not for the hoards of people inside :p (it's hard to move and carry a lot with that condition)

animal print sleeveless dress... light enough that it's good for the increasingly hot weather. dress: Samlin

upclose pic of the dress... it actually has a stripe detail as well :)

My favorite purchase in the department store. It's a chiffon top with nautical details :) perfect for summer! top: Unica Hija

Pleated top with flower print trim and ribbon belt. It's very vintage- looking which is ideal for pencil cut skirts or slim pants

Upclose pic of the pleated details and the floral ribbon belt

beige lace up sandals

Also, when I usually go to Forever 21, I only end up buying accessories... but this time I was finally able to buy 3 outfits which I sooo love! :D

This boho top may not be the ideal color for summer but I was really drawn to the details... so I will still think about when I should wear this :D

Details on the top.... so exotic looking :D

This is another bohemian top which I can definitely wear this summer! It's light colored and sheer :)

The embroidered details, the tassels, and lace... perfect! This is my favorite purchase in F21.

Red satin dress with sleeve details. When I bought this, I really thought that it's fuschia pink. It was only when I was taking pictures of it did I realize that it's actually red (and I didn't read the tag which indicated that it's Red :P)

The sleeve... it's a cool and surprising detail for a simple dress :)

I can say that even if I ended up so tired when I reached home, it was a very fruitful day indeed ;)

P.S. I mentioned on my previous post that I'll be posting my ukay purchases from Baguio. Well, I forgot to take pictures plus I already sent the outfits to the laundry shop... so I'll just post them one of these days (I hope) :P

Golden Globes is truly golden

Ok, at this point I admit that I'm a terrible blogger... I can't keep up posting blogs :P But at least I have posted again after a week (as opposed to a month)! :D

Anyway, I've seen the pics from the recently concluded Golden Globe awards. I have my favorite pics as well as those that I didn't like to much.

My favorites are:

1. Sandra Bullock - I love the glitzy meets girly look on her gown. It has silver shiny shimmering thing going on but the color (light pink) offsets it.
2. Olivia Wilde - if I have the body of Olivia, I would wear a ball gown everyday :p She can carry the weight of the gown with her figure and height... and have you seen the gold heels--- feels like a Cinderella moment... A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
3. Anne Hathaway - what's up with shiny shimmering things??? :D (well, its GOLDEN Globes after all :p)  good for her she wears the dress... not the other way around... it is conservative on the front... but the surprise is actually at the back---think if they remove 2 more inches, we would have seen more than just the back :D
4. Angelina Jolie - similar concept from Anne's gown... but it is more conservative and it is in an amazing emerald color. I'm not a great fan of green, but it suits Angelina just fine... and it's a color you don't get to see on her often (she wears a lot of black!)

The one I don't feel at all:

1. Michelle Williams - I know my blog states quirky... and it is a quirky outfit... I should love it then, right? But there is just something about it that I don't like - the color (it's a bit bland), the print (it's too daytime for an evening ceremony), and the overall shape (I don't want to gain an additional 10 pounds because my dress have ruffles on the side). I think she's going for something unique to go with her amazing pixie cut hair, but sorry to say, for me, her effort just went flat :(

2. Natalie Portman - I think every entertainment news show is excited to see what Natalie Portman will wear because she is the one expected to win Best Actress... and alas, she wears something that looks like a bridesmaid dress only with big red rose accent at the center (which I don't get either). Some may like this dress, but again, this is just my personal opinion. Good thing she's glowing because of her growing baby bump :)

3. Helena Bonham Carter - I don't have words to describe the dress(sack/wrap/God knows what)!... and don't even go to the (mismatch)shoes!IF there is one good thing about her... she's consistent in her fashion choices :D

Got to love this award shows... gives us something to talk about (fashion-wise) :D

My items for the day have nothing to do with Golden Globes but instead, my long lost promise.... pics of the items I bought from Vietnam :P I only have 2 of the 5 items but at least I fulfilled my promise (half of it anyway).

Love the rose access (on the side) and the print

The material is chiffon - very light and airy :)

Blouse/tunic/short dress (also in chiffon). Love the bohemian feel to it

Until next time! (hopefully tomorrow :D)
