Extended Year-End Sale Treasures

... and so it was, the year-end sale was extended... to both my delight and chagrin :D It gave me more time to shop for items that I may not be able to buy on regular price but slowly, my New Year's promise to save just got broken... to a certain extent. Some of the items were bought using gift certificates I received, so technically, it's still a win-win situation for me :) Even if it's sale, I still don't buy anything above 1000 pesos per item...I don't know why but anything above it is already expensive to me :P I rarely buy clothing or other stuff above that price (and with a lot of options to choose from, you can buy cheap but quality items... you just have to look for them really hard).

Here are the items I bought over the course of the extended sale period:

- Love the sea-themed necklace! Wish I had thought of doing this :P
 chickflickcollection.multiply.com necklace bought at Cinderella
- My adventure wouldn't be complete without buying clothes... which are really, really cheaper during sales :D

I got this top for 70% off! what I steal... and perfect for the upcoming summer season (that's March in our country)

navy sheer top: Unica Hija @ P250. Love the front details :)
I usually don't go to Forever 21 during sales because it can be chaotic at times but good thing I did because I stumbled on a very good find! I bought a dress at 50% off for P525... but it's like I'm getting 3 items for that price :D
the sheer dress, the slip, and the belt!

the actual dress... maybe I can substitute the pink slip with another color... and use the belt in other outfits :D
 - A lot of bags were also on sale and I'm very happy with what I found!

I love the laptop bag I bought from a store in Glorietta (see it here) that I came back the following week to buy another one (this time, it's a tote bag)... and it's only P500, not bad for something that's big enough to carry a lot of items and the print's so cute too!
tote bag: Prizms @ Glorietta
I love satchels so when I found this, I didn't pass the opportunity to buy this. It costs P650; the materials are great!
Therapy brown & snakeskin satchel for P650 :)

- Lastly, I didn't buy this on sale but I was still surprised to find out that the book is less than P1000. I really thought that this is a really expensive book when Jane Aldridge first endorsed it on her blog, Sea of Shoes. I didn't bother to check it out at a bookstore thinking that I wouldn't be able to afford it so when I happen to go to a bookstore and see this (and found out it's price), I immediately bought it! I don't think I'll be able to blog as well as the featured bloggers on the book, but just seeing how they dress really serves as an inspiration (despite the fact that those bloggers are probably 5-10 years younger than I am :P)
Style Yourself book :)

So there it is... the treasures I found during the extended year-end sale :) I hope I can finally have time to relax and not buy a single thing for the next few months (or at least until the next grand sale).

Have a great day!

Daily Outfit: Hodgepodge

Here's yet another quick post--- this time of my Friday casual work outfit. I’m not going for a particular style that's why it’s a hodgepodge of different items. My sheer top is more on the vintage/romantic side and the bag is a bit quirky...

white sheer top: bought from Australia, bag: Elements @ Landmark
The studded wedge is somewhat edgy...

studded wedges: Mario D' Boro @ SM
...and the watch is definitely sporty :D

watch: Puma (birthday gift from friends)
The important thing is that I still look presentable in the office hahaha.

I’m really looking forward to the weekend :D I’m thinking about doing thrift shopping. I kinda miss doing it… I just hope that my bed wouldn’t miss me too much :P If my plan does push through, I hope I'll be able to score great finds and post it here.

Enjoy the weekend!

Christmas Shopping Part 2

I only got time today to actually take photos of the other batch of my Christmas Sale buys. This batch is what I call "The drapey, flowy dresses edition". I believe that if something fits you well and it's also something that you love, buy multiples of it :D I love drapey & flowy dresses since it doesn't cling to the body and it hides a multitude of body flaws. So I bought a lot of them while it's on sale... and most importantly, while I have money :P

The first batch are all solid colored:

cobalt blue jersey dress: Landmark

maroon blue jersey dress: Landmark

black blue jersey dress (sleeveless version): Landmark

up close draping of the black dress
draped jersey dress: Blanc et Noir @ SM Department Store

up close detail of the dress
aquamarine jersey dress: Philosophy @ SM Dept Store

I love the idea that these dresses are like a blank canvas. It can be matched with bold and/or printed accessories :)

Now on to the printed dresses:

hat print garterized dress: Tomato

The hats are so pretty :D

Pink & Gray animal printed draped dress: Philosophy @ SM Dept Store

The print and the drapes

purple bohemian printed chiffon dress: Tomato

love the print and the color combo or purple, white, & turquoise
I just can't live without anything printed so I think it's just right for me to buy these dresses (ok, I'm just justifying my items :P).

I usually buy at Landmark and SM Department Store since they have a lot of inexpensive yet very chic items. I especially like Philosophy & Blanc et Noir so when I go to SM, these are the brands that I first check out.

This year, I've added Tomato to the go-to list. I really thought that their dresses are only for the very petite/slim but I was surprised that their dresses fit me as well (I'm a bit chubby and I have a stomach pouch to hide hahaha). They also have a very pretty collection of flats as well.

Since 2012 is now here, I wish you all more great finds to come :)

XOXO

P.S. Apologies for the poor quality of the photos. I was still a bit sleepy when I took this pics so it was taken in a rush :D

Daily Outfit: Lazy Wednesday Afternoon

Ok, first things first... I wasn't able to post this here in my blog last Wednesday because of the "bed weather". My bed is just inviting me to sleep early rather than open my blog. The rain has been pouring non-stop for the past few days that it was just hard to do anything :)

Anyway, here's my outfit last Wednesday. I was lazy to mix-and-match that I just grabbed the first thing I saw in my closet :P My outfit ended up to be a girly girl one --- complete with sheer details, pearls, and polka dots & stripes combo.

Sheer top: bought online, skirt: Surplus Shop, wedges: Mario D' Boro

Tomorrow is our Boogie Bash Christmas Party. I will not exactly wear a "costume", just a dress that is inspired by the 70s. Well, I don't plan to claim the Best in Costume anyway so no worries for me :D I'm there to enjoy the show (which will be hosted by Bianca Valerio! yey!) and to eat of course hihihi. I'm also crossing my fingers on the prizes to be given away.... I really do hope that I win this time (I mean, I haven't won a single thing on all past parties... not even minor prizes!).

So I'm off to my beauty sleep now. I don't want to end up looking sleepy eyed on my party pics :)

Mega Sale!

As much as I want to blog about Prince William & Kate's wedding, I was at work at that time and didn't get to see much of it. What I want to say though is that Kate (or should I say, HRH Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) looks amazing in that wedding dress! It's true to her style - classic and regal.

Anyway, what I want to share to you is my experience with the ongoing 3-day sale at SM Megamall (April 29-May 1). I went there yesterday and I have to say, it's both exciting and exhausting! Exciting because there are a lot to choose from... and exhausting because I feel like half of the population of Manila is there! :P I swear, at one point I thought that I was going to faint...

I have taken pics of my purchases. Again, I do apologize for my lack of photography and editing skills... do appreciate the items though :D

Here's the pic of what I wore that day:

Top, shorts, & beaded sandals: SM (haha I only realized it now that all of it are from SM :p), sequined bag: thrifted.

upclose pic of the sandals

I bought a dress and 2 tops from SM Department Store. I could have bought more if not for the hoards of people inside :p (it's hard to move and carry a lot with that condition)

animal print sleeveless dress... light enough that it's good for the increasingly hot weather. dress: Samlin

upclose pic of the dress... it actually has a stripe detail as well :)

My favorite purchase in the department store. It's a chiffon top with nautical details :) perfect for summer! top: Unica Hija

upclose pic of the print and gold buttons

Pleated top with flower print trim and ribbon belt. It's very vintage- looking which is ideal for pencil cut skirts or slim pants

Upclose pic of the pleated details and the floral ribbon belt

beige lace up sandals

Also, when I usually go to Forever 21, I only end up buying accessories... but this time I was finally able to buy 3 outfits which I sooo love! :D

This boho top may not be the ideal color for summer but I was really drawn to the details... so I will still think about when I should wear this :D

Details on the top.... so exotic looking :D

This is another bohemian top which I can definitely wear this summer! It's light colored and sheer :)

The embroidered details, the tassels, and lace... perfect! This is my favorite purchase in F21.

Red satin dress with sleeve details. When I bought this, I really thought that it's fuschia pink. It was only when I was taking pictures of it did I realize that it's actually red (and I didn't read the tag which indicated that it's Red :P)

The sleeve... it's a cool and surprising detail for a simple dress :)

I can say that even if I ended up so tired when I reached home, it was a very fruitful day indeed ;)

P.S. I mentioned on my previous post that I'll be posting my ukay purchases from Baguio. Well, I forgot to take pictures plus I already sent the outfits to the laundry shop... so I'll just post them one of these days (I hope) :P
